OUR BUSINESS

Federal, State and Local Government Investing

American Capital is targeting investments in companies that provide services or products to federal, state or local governments. American Capital can invest between $5 million and $800 million in a single transaction. We can invest throughout the capital structure in any combination of debt and equity (minority or majority stake) to support growth, acquisitions, a change of control, or the exit of minority shareholders. We are the leading investor in the middle market, both as a buyer of companies and as a lender.
