Bill Bujake

Bill Bujake joined the Los Angeles office of American Capital as an Associate in January 2002 and was promoted to Vice President in 2004. Mr. Bujake comes to ACAS from GE Capital where he invested primarily senior debt in leveraged middle market companies. Prior to GE Capital, he spent three years with Prudential Capital Group purchasing private placements of both senior and subordinated debt.


Mr. Bujake received his B.S. in Finance from Indiana University and his M.B.A. from The Anderson School at UCLA.

Michael Carr
   
Vice President, Buyouts

Michael Carr joined American Capital as a Vice President in the West Coast Buyout Team. Previously, Mr. Carr was the Managing Partner of BAC Investments, a lower middle market equity firm that focused on outsourcing providers, business services, and value-added distribution companies. Mr. Carr’s activities included originating, evaluating, and structuring financial transactions. Prior to founding BAC, Mr. Carr spent 10 years as an operating executive where he successfully mapped the strategic and operational paths of middle market companies that were struggling with succession issues.


Mr. Carr often speaks at various business events on the topics of business succession and the role of Private Equity. He is actively involved with professional organizations and is the Immediate Past President of the Los Angeles Chapter of ACG. Mr. Carr also currently serves on the Global Board of ACG.


Mr. Carr received his M.B.A. from the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University and received his B.S. from Cal State University.

Colin Cropper
   
Vice President, Sponsor Finance

Colin Cropper joined American Capital in March 2008 as a Vice President in the Los Angeles office. Prior to joining American Capital, he spent five years as an Associate and Vice President in Lehman Brothers’ investment banking division in New York. While at Lehman Brothers he executed numerous high yield, leveraged loan and M&A transactions for companies in the industrial sector.

Mr. Cropper earned an M.B.A. from the Anderson School at UCLA and a B.A. in International Relations from Brigham Young University.

Frank Do

Managing Director, Buyouts

Frank Do joined American Capital as a Principal in the Los Angeles office in 2002 and was promoted to Managing Director and head of the office in 2004. Mr. Do is currently responsible for the two West Coast offices of American Capital, including San Francisco. He has more than seventeen years of private equity experience with total invested capital of over $1 billion. Prior to joining American Capital, Mr. Do was General Partner at Westar Capital, a private equity firm based in Southern California. Before that, he was a Principal at Chase Capital Partners (now JP Morgan Partners). His investment experience includes venture capital, growth equity, leveraged recapitalizations, middle market buyouts, and mezzanine debt. Mr. Do has experience investing in a broad range of industries, including consumer products, information services, specialty retailing, basic industrial, value-added distribution, healthcare services and devices, and capital goods.

Mr. Do holds a B.A. in Economics and International Relations from Claremont McKenna College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Matthew Frankel
   
Vice President, Buyouts

Matthew Frankel joined American Capital Strategies in July 2003 as an Associate in the Los Angeles office. Since joining American Capital, Mr. Frankel has invested over $1 billion across 13 buyout and financing transactions. Prior to joining American Capital, Mr. Frankel worked as an analyst in the Investment Banking Division of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. in Los Angeles. At Bear Stearns Mr. Frankel participated in various mergers and acquisitions transactions and debt and equity offerings.


Mr. Frankel graduated from The University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. In addition, Mr. Frankel completed an exchange program at the Copenhagen Business School in Denmark.

Brendan Gallaher

Managing Director, Credit Opportunities Group

Mr. Gallaher joined American Capital in February 2007 as a Managing Director of the Credit Opportunities Group in the Los Angeles office. He has over twenty years of distressed and turnaround experience. Prior to joining American Capital, Mr. Gallaher was President of William E. Simon & Sons Special Situations where he managed domestic and offshore distressed funds. He was also a member of William E. Simon & Sons Executive Committee and Investment Committee overseeing private equity, real estate and special situations.


Prior to joining William E. Simon & Sons, Mr. Gallaher worked for Bank of America where he coordinated the resolution of multiple workouts in various industries; coordinated the resolution and sale of over $1 billion of non-accrual loans related to Bank of America's acquisition of Security Pacific Bank; and established and managed a global distressed proprietary fund.


Mr. Gallaher holds a B.A. with honors in Economics from the College of William and Mary, a M.A. with honors and L.L.M. with honors in Private International Law from Cambridge University.

Griffith Lee
   
Vice President, Credit Opportunities Group

Griffith Lee joined American Capital in April 2007 as a Vice President for the Credit Opportunities Group in Los Angeles.


Prior to joining American Capital, Mr. Lee spent over seven years at Chanin Capital Partners, most recently as Vice President, where he advised creditor and bondholder committees, financial sponsors, debtors and other parties in matters relating to financial restructuring transactions and reorganizations, including debt-for-equity conversions, exchange offers, refinancings, recapitalizations, rights offerings, and asset sales. Prior to Chanin, Mr. Lee was a Financial Analyst for the Valuation Advisory Group at Ernst & Young where he specialized in valuations of both healthy and distressed companies in transition.


Mr. Lee received a B.S. degree in Applied Mathematics and a B.A. degree in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Brian Martin

Brian Martin joined American Capital in February 2002 as an Associate in the Los Angeles office and was promoted to Vice President in July 2006.  Mr. Martin serves as a Board Member of FutureLogic, BarrierSafe Solutions International and Electro-Component Assembly.  Mr. Martin also served as a Board Member of 3SI Security Systems.  During the summer of 2005, he assisted in the opening of the Paris office of European Capital.  Prior to joining American Capital, Mr. Martin worked in both the Technology Investment Banking Division and Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Robertson Stephens.  At Robertson Stephens, Mr. Martin specialized in equity underwriting and mergers & acquisitions transactions for companies in a variety of technology sectors and real estate.  


Mr. Martin received a B.S. in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.

David McReynolds

Principal, Special Situations

David McReynolds joined American Capital in 2006 as a Vice President in the Special Situations Group in the Los Angeles office.


Mr. McReynolds has over 10 years of experience in originating, evaluating, structuring and investing in financial transactions.  Over the course of his career, he has participated in distressed debt and private equity investing, restructuring and distressed M&A advisory, and leveraged lending transactions.  Prior to joining American Capital, Mr. McReynolds was a founding partner of Signature Capital Partners, LLC and a Director of Acquisitions for Republic Financial Corporation, both distressed debt and special situations investment firms.


Mr. McReynolds is a frequent speaker at industry leading conferences on the topics of special situations investing and raising capital for distressed companies.  He is also actively involved with professional organizations within the industry and is a Board Member of the Los Angeles Turnaround Management Association.


Mr. McReynolds received his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and B.S. from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Bradley Nii
   
Principal, Sponsor Finance

Bradley Nii joined American Capital's Los Angeles Office in August 2007 as a Principal in the Sponsor Finance Group. Prior to joining American Capital, Mr. Nii was a Senior Vice President in the Investment Banking Group at Lehman Brothers based in Los Angeles and focused on covering Financial Sponsors with a presence on the West Coast. Prior to covering Financial Sponsors, Mr. Nii was a Vice President in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group in New York. While at Lehman Brothers, Mr. Nii was involved in a number of transactions and financings totaling over $100 billion in value in a variety of industry sectors.


Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Mr. Nii was a certified public accountant with Ernst & Young from 1987 to 1996.


Mr. Nii holds a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from the University of Southern California.

Kimberly Reed
   
Principal, Buyouts

Kimberly Reed joined the Los Angeles office of American Capital in April 2002. She comes to American Capital from Waterview Partners, where she was responsible for the development, evaluation, and execution of venture capital, growth capital, and LBO investments. Prior to Waterview, Ms. Reed was an associate at JP Morgan Partners, where she focused on growth, mezzanine and buyout investments, including Hallmark Entertainment Network (now publicly traded on NASDAQ as Crown Media Holdings (CRWN). Kimberly began her career at CIBC Wood Gundy where she analyzed and executed debt and equity financings as well as strategic advisory assignments for private equity firms and corporate clients.

Ms. Reed received a Bachelor of Arts in History and Economics cum laude from Columbia University.
